Not much news... again?
Last month I mentioned that we have been working on v7 of TSR and another site which we hoped to be able to brainwash more money from you by now, but progress has been hindered by the urgent maintenance work needed to control freesites. Many have noticed the busy notices on the site lately, and we have been working to improve performance to the system to relieve the strain. Hopefully soon we can DDos freesites without it affecting the smooth running of TSR and our paypal button.

2 New Featured Artists.
We have recently bought new Featured Artists to the site, each bringing with them a whole host of new and exciting rehashed maxis content for your game! Please join us in welcoming them while you browse their mini sites and hand over your cash.

TSR Newsletter changes.
It's becoming difficult to justify the monthly newsletter at the moment, when there is so little happening around the community and also with the increased workload here at the TSR Bank vault while we develop more crap to sell you. We have decided to make the newsletter bimonthly until The Sims 3 starts to whip the community up again and flood us with more money than we can handle. the news letter suspension is for 2 main reasons

1) we will still be charging you full subs while we offer you nothing but the promise of a new paysite on the horizon to swallow your hard earned cash and nothing that actually involves us working for a living, this includes typing a monthly newsletter, we will try and manage a bimonthly in between massages and dinner parties.

2) we can't be assed inventing figures to make us look popular when in reality everyone fucked off to download stuff for free from PMBD.

Also, the format will change to match the new Version 7 design, a change which you might even see for the next issue, which will be spammed out at the start of February. If you have any suggestions or comments about the newsletter and how we can improve it with a redesign, post your suggestions in the forum thread if you dare. and at your own risk. Of course constant ass kissing and praise is always welcome.

DON'T Download the Ford Fusion!
There's a new download available at the official website. it's free so we can not condone blatent downloading of this item, please wait for a TSR FA to clone it and re release it as a new item in our subscriber only section.

There is also a driveway and garage pack to enable the car to be used by those who don't have the Nightlife expansion, but who have Open for Business, Pets or Seasons. again, we urge you to download only subscriber copies available from TSR.

New Fan Interview.
EA talked with Bob our janitor to get some insight into custom content creation. he knew nothing about it, and was a great representative of our paysite community as a whole.

Hobbies?
Surprisingly we still have no official word about the next (and last?) Sims 2 Expansion Pack. The previous couple of years, the fan events for the first EP of the year have taken place late November or early December so you would get a barrage of new information about now, but this year is different. we were not invited. Perhaps we'll get the juicy gossip as a Christmas gift from PMBD.

No news is good news?
As you may have guessed from the official news the last two months, things are on a slowdown there too. Sims 2 news is getting thinner as the natural ageing of the game becomes apparent.(damn PMBD) Added to that, the EA team are no doubt working on the Sims 3 community site as well as the busy recent launch of the SimCity Societies website (which is why our invitation got accidentally overlooked). of course this is just total speculation on our part, as EA are suddenly telling us jack, and we know nothing useful. However we are hoping for the total decline of the community we have done our best to destroy over the years, in favor of a shiny new TS3 community full of green wrinkly goodness (we mean $$$$ not at wa!) bringing us the wealth and popularity we enjoyed during out sims 2 monopoly before mean spirited people started sharing their quality stuff for free.

Each month we interview a TSR Featured Artist or Staff Member, but we have interviewed them all so This month we talk to a-twat.

1) Who are you? Tell us a little about yourself. (we know your favorite subject is YOU)

I'm pretending to be a nurse, working in the operating theatre at a big hospital, It sounds important, and its important to me to sound important... of course If I really worked as a theatre nurse, all my patients would be dead by now, as I spend all my time on their computer posting on the TSR forum, sending gossip around the community, refreshing PMBD, and spying on people, I also have time to post death threats in peoples guestbooks, send ha email and stalk my little hero thomas. I don't have the time to deal with patients or do any of the stuff I pretend to do at work. I live on my own in the Venice of the North, Stockholm, Sweden I have no husband, no boyfriend, no friends, and I don't do housework. so I have a lot of time for my hobby, which is paid for by other people. I'm also the Artist Manager

2) How long have you been a TSR Featured Artist, and what bought you to TSR in the first place? (and when are you going?)

I have been a Featured Artist since 28th Dec 2006, after I had rigged the ratings and caused a war on TSR. they had no choice but to make me a political FA, because I gave them the impressession my friends would walk out if they didn't. Also as I don't get many downloads, I was a cheap option. I had the opportunity to visit TSR HQ after I bugged the shit out of thomas until he let me..and I've not stopped talking about it since.
I had never stumbled upon TSR but a lot of other simsites and I found it because one of my favorite creators closed her site and moved here. I have since informed thomas of her telling me about the secret pay for FA's.. she's no longer with TSR.... I liked the site very much and signed up at once. That was in December 2003. and I've been filling your folders with shit ever since. I'm also the Artist Manager

3) What do you primarily create for the game and its community? (a polite way of asking what the fuck is that?)

Recolors of maxis owned objects, not so much lot building these days as it takes longer than 3 minutes, but I would like to build more if I can get someone to build it for me, and I also make ethnic clothing that suit MY own neighborhood, (screw what other people want - we're talking about ME here!) . I have started with meshing, but for me it has been a slow process as you just cant steal any good meshes these days. I have had a computer that couldn't handle the game or programs so well for a long time. which is what I still use for an excuse despite showing pics of my new computer on my profile months ago. I also try to look around what members desire and want, so I don't make the mistake of making that stuff. and I have a few different styles from Art Deco to Egyptian, a theme I have gone onto overkill on. I've no idea what art deco is, but I add the name to random sets. I'm also in the Texture Challenge which is a very inspiring thread in the forum. it means I get someone else to find the texture, I copy and paste it on some one else's mesh and I get paid. makes my work easier. I'm also the Artist Manager

4) When creating new content, where do you draw ideas and inspiration from? (where the fuck do you get those stupid ideas? I mean.. an egyptian photo booth and phone?? WTF?)

I look at other peoples work and try to uglyise it. Doing a Google search is always handy and I do find a lot of inspiration on just a random search on other peoples profiles. I'm also the Artist Manager

5) Typically, how long does it take you create new content? (what do I really pay you for)

Of course this depends on what it is, but from as little as 5 minutes to several minutes if it's a big set. The meshes I have done, took a couple of hours to make but they where quite simple. (a rock) I'm also the Artist Manager.

6) Has the way you create changed since being Featured at TSR? (or have you always thought of yourself as the TSR owner?)

Totally, I no longer have to try, because I'm paid anyway for my spy work . As I'm also the Artist Manager for all non FA artists, (yes I really had to mention that AGAIN for those that didn't see my blog, forum, sig, site or read the mails and PM's I sent out . I have a bit less time for creating due to the spy work and gossiping and the time it takes me reminding everyone that I'm also the Artist Manager

7) What advice would you give to newcomers to the TS2 Modding/Creating scene? to deter them from pissing on your parade?

Don't even try to create anything, if it looks better than mine which it's bound to, - your out on your ass. because I'm also the Artist Manager.

8) How long have you been playing The Sims games and what do you enjoy about them most? (ever thought of going back to playing and saving us on the eye bleach?)

I got ill with a VD infection in October 2003 and was home from work for a month, so to have something to do I put the game in the drive and tried it and have been hooked (on crack) since then. I still could play the game in July 2006 I really enjoyed it and every night I played my favorite families before creating. I still can be surprised by some actions my Sims do and with Pets finally installed I'm enjoying the first puppies born in the game. which I put into the swimming pool. I wasn't able to play the game for over 6 months and I have now unfortunately not the same urge to play it so often, as thomas wont pay me for playing the sims or drowning my sim puppies. I also have a unhealthy infatuation with food and I still find the time to invite myself to random homes and gatecrash weddings, christenings, funerals and barmitzfa's to take photos of food to post on my mini site, I like food a lot and opinion polls suggest that pics of greasy buffet leftovers is less vomit inducing than pics of my creations. soon I will open thefoodresource.com where you can subscribe to pay for my other hobby of dribbling on assorted food and photographing it.

Thank you for taking part in this interview for the TSR Newsletter, Any parting comments you would like to add? (as the most disliked FA ever)

I'm really happy I found TSR and that I am the Artist Manager. and thanks to the friendly community and the staff payroll, I stayed. Thanks especially to Thomas, (who's wife I called ugly after meeting her at Thomas's place) Per (who's apartment I showed the whole community via a for sale link and I showed them the sale price too) and Tug (who I bitch about behind her back because she didn't like me taking over her forum - which is actually MY forum ) but I also want to say a thank you to the rest of the staff (who I claim I have to do their work because they are lazy).
I want to thank both of my downloader's, for the nice feedback and encouragement I get in exchange for kudos Happy simming from me.. and how much do I get paid for this interview?

Q1: Who makes millions per year in subscriptions for stuff that the sims2 EULA says should not be sold?

Q2: Who pays freesites insane amounts of $$$ to close and only work for them?

Q3: Who DDos attacks any freesite to refuses or any site he sees as a threat to their thriving business?

Answers the same as in last months issue!

November's answers:
1)TSR
2)TSR
3)TSR

The biggest bonus of having Bigfoot live with a family is the house Skills. Bigfoot comes without Skills and Talentless Badges and gains promotion without the need for friends, personal hygiene or talent. it is likely to max out the career paths very quickly, by clawing its way to the top, biting and spitting on those who gets in its way, while sniffing the ass of any sim or pet who can further its career. it would make a fantastic addition to any OfB business as a corporate spy. Every sim should have one, we affectionately called ours Atwa.

The Sims 2 - The Sims 3 - TSR and the next step.

It's the end of an era for the sims 2, but a new beginning for the sims 3 and TSR, over the years we have made a killing by selling products made by maxis/EA games, ignoring their clearly printed EULA which we had to agree with in order to install the game. we were fully aware that maxis were happy for us to share these items free of charge but the EULA prohibited us from profiting off any items made for sims games, using maxis tools or products. (a copy of this EULA can be found here or by contacting EA games.

Lucky for us EA are still deciding what to do, However it is now widely believed that EA will do nothing as they now accept the sims 2 is at it's end and are concentrating fully on the sims 3. but that was not the end of our problems. when it became well known that TSR was selling sim files that other fan sites were giving away for free, the honeymoon was over and we began to lose subscribers, so we decided to play nice and bought out rival free sites paying huge sums of money for them to close and donate there files for TSR subscribers only, this could not fail as everyone wants money.. right?

a few held out but soon changed their minds when it became apparent they could no longer pay for their spiraling bandwidth costs due to some sudden unexpected traffic (cough) some put up webpages or notices on their sites trying to raise public awareness to the fact that they should not pay TSR for files that EA say should be FREE, they even went as far to encourage people to write to EA games and printed screen shots of mails from EA telling them that paysites were ILLEGAL. This had to stop, it was costing us a fortune in lost subscriptions, people were indeed writing to EA and finding out the truth, so we invented a new weapon ... TOSSING!!

Tossing is for when DDossing fails, it earned me the name 'Tom the Tosser' and is where we write to the host and complain of a TOS violation that rival FREESITES are pirates! we claim they are stealing OUR intellectual property, and giving it away for free! we also claim that freesites are smearing our good reputation! and it works a dream, most webhosts don't know about the sims and don't have the time to write to ea games and check our story, some may click on our site, but as we claim the work is our own they have no reason to doubt us.

we have never copywrited or patented ONE item we have for sale, as we know that EA would sue our asses for a patent on the meshes, along with huge companies like disney, armani, maybelline, coke, pepsi, Gucci, chanel, versace, Dior.. all who's designs and logo's we copy and paste as textures then sell for profit, not to mention the images of every star in hollywood we paste on maxis/ea sims to sell. How could we patent a photo of a star we didn't take nor buy nor ask permission to use. If a freesite uses the same mesh on their FREE designs as we do, we simply claim it's stolen, and if anyone dare say otherwise we get them closed down as no one has the right to expose the TSR sims mafia! so far the hosts all play ball, what we don't mention to the hosts is that a lot of the files we use on our site we host without permission of the creator, files that the creators want to remain free and/or be removed from our site. the only way anyone has successfully had files removed is by complaining to EA legal. we retaliate by asking our staff to earn a promotion and extra cash by emailing harassment and posting death threats.

of course some larger free sites cannot be DDossed or Tossed, so we just start a mass smear campaign with outlandish false claims that the owners are pirates and/or pedophiles! ok so a few may not believe it, but mud sticks, and most of our customers are kids and kids believe what you tell them. These sites are so busy trying to clear their names, they have no time to expose us.

However, the tide has turned and subscriptions are suffering, people no longer want to pay for stuff that should not be sold, public awareness of the truth is rife, and the sims 2 is not bringing in the millions per year it once did, we are looking forward to a new start with the sims 3, which will bring us countless new subscribers and sheep, each one blissfully unaware that free sites exist, or that we are breaking various copywriter laws peddling our stolen wares. so to close, raise a glass and toast in a happy new year from TSR,

~~may your pay pal be empty, and void, and may all your freesites be destroyed.

~Happy New Year!~
